Bakersfield Museum of Art - photos from the show

Here are the first photos from show. Rather annoyingly I forgot the camera on the actual opening night. I had a small talk with a 'powerpoint presentation'. I think there must have been about 100 people, but I can't be sure, quite intimidating, but I think it went okay! If I get photos from anyone of the actual night in coming weeks I'll post them up.

Bakersfield Museum of Art

Less than a week now, till opening night. (This Thursday). Very exciting,  I put a number of the paintings from the show up on my facebook page. You can visit here and don't need to be a member of facebook to see it http://www.facebook.com/AngusWilsonStudio

Also, if you wish I can email you a pdf file of my flier if you email me, but I can't work out how to make an attachment for the file here. Sorry.

Here's one of the paintings from the show.

I completed a larger painting of some Irises this week, but haven't had a chance to photograph it yet, I also completed a little Plein Air landscape painting, which was fun though challenging. I spend so much time painting my 'colorist' style still lifes that to sometimes change gears to a more representational landscape it a little challenging. Perhaps I should do more...

Fiddling with my blog

Apart from painting I've been tweaking my blog design, what do you think?

Ranunculus with Oranges over gold

Love these flowers, bit of a mouthful to say, but both beautiful and wonderful to paint. I love the way the stems twist and turn as they open.

Lost the fight

Here's last weeks painting (see previous post) of Tulips, called 'White Tulips on green' which worked out - Yipee.

Sadly however, I think I lost the fight with the larger Lily painting, it's been put to the side, in the hope of a saving flash of creativity and maybe a little luck. But usually when things don't go well, no amount of fiddling can save them... :-(
